Ari Rossner - Beauties: Ari Rossner is a photographer specializing in beauty, working with advertising agencies, the cosmetics and fashion industry or wherever a touch of grace might be appreciated.
Portraits: Ari also explores the human face and those who tell a story of themselves, their families, or their country and culture. He calls these subjects "real people," individuals positively anchored in a profound reality.
Painting: Almost inevitably Ari set his sights on his own photographs. A series of portraits entitled "Off-Set" has emerged. From this series, the photographer developed a particular "painted" process whereby, to re-realize his images, he picked up a brush and challenged the full range of representational codes. In freeing his gesture and stepping out from behind the camera, he claims a less visible but more visceral image.
